Mommy/Daughter Outtakes Part 2
It’s nighttime and once again, Sariah wants to talk.
Now, don’t get me wrong; this is an AWESOME thing. Young girls should be encouraged to shoot straight from the hip without apology and compromise. I say, the earlier she knows how to express what she wants, the better.
That said, I’ll get on with it.
Her: Mommy, I finally know what I want to do when I grow up
Me: you mean you don’t want to be a ballerina Pastor who will be the first woman on Mars?
Her: oh Mom, that was last year
Me: Oh, I didn’t realize.
Her: it’s ok. It happens. Now, I really want to be an actress. I think I’d like to be on camera and do scenes and stuff like that.
Me: so, you’re not camera shy anymore?
Her: what’s that?
Me: you know how you run away whenever you see a camera or how you get real shy when you’re on stage? That’s camera shy.
Her: Hmm, that may be a problem.
